Techniques for getting SRPEs to go down?
Here are some techniques for getting SRPEs to go down.
Epinephrine injections
Some men give themselves injections to achieve an erection.
The opposite effect can also be achieved by injecting a liquid antihistamine like epinephrine directly into the shaft, during an erection.
It only serves to bring down an erection in that moment.
If you go right back to sleep and the body triggers another erection, you’d have to do another injection to bring it down again.
Your urologist will likely want you to practice this in his presence so you understand how to do it safely.
Pigeon pose stretch
A yoga pose that stretches out the groin, glutes, IT band, and outer thigh.
Squats
Quickly doing several dozen half-squats will activate muscles and processes that interrupt the body state causing the erection (the parasympathetic or “rest and digest” state).
Urination
The act of urinating causes the activated erectile mechanism to relax, in order to allow for the passage of urine through the urethra.
“Walking it off”
Cold Wet Washcloth
The cold temperature seems to be useful for some in getting their SRPEs to go down, some have even used gel ice packs.
Butterfly Stretches
Some SRPE sufferers get quick relief from stretches like the one see below, or some version of it done from their backs.
Among the muscles stretched are the adductors, responsible for pulling the legs together.
